Dear Esteemed Individuals, Profit and Non-Profit Organizations,

We are thrilled to share an exciting and transformative project with you and extend a warm invitation to be a part of it. At Girl Engineer, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your invaluable support of our upcoming Solar Energy project for girls in Malawi.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Solar Energy STEM Project is one of our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) outreach initiatives targeting girls in primary schools, designed to ignite their curiosity and interest in STEM fields, particularly those related to renewable energy. Through this medium-term hands-on project girls get a chance to dive into the world of renewable energy and learn about Solar energy technology, its applications, environmental benefits, and the possibilities it holds for the future. This hands-on experience lets them explore the scientific principles behind Solar energy technologies. It also offers girls the exciting opportunity to install and test Solar panels equipped with charge controllers, batteries and power inverters. Through this hands-on experience, they gain a firsthand understanding how Solar panels capture sunlight and convert it into usable electricity. By plugging in an LED light and mobile phone, the girls witness the magic firsthand: Solar energy illuminating the light and charging the mobile phone, demonstrating its real-world application in powering everyday devices.
